Feed My Flock

It’s the largest one-day outreach event in our parish history. Over 600 volunteers from our parish and beyond will work side-by-side to prepare 108,000 meals for the hungry. You will definitely want to be a part of this.

Feed My Flock is a food packaging ministry. It brings people together to feed the hungry in the counties surrounding Memphis, as well as in countries around the world. The food is an innovative and nutritious blend of rice, beans, soy, dried vegetables and vitamins. A single bag yields six complete meals. Each meal costs 25 cents; 20 cents pays for the food and 5 cents pays for the shipping. Groups of 10-12 people will work together to fill, weigh, seal, and stack the bags of food, which are then placed in boxes and shipped to their destination.

What a wonderful way for us – together – to serve God and others. Children 5th grade and above can participate assembling the bags of food, while younger children can decorate boxes that will be shipped. There will even be volunteers watching and playing with the little ones while the rest of the family is working their 2-hour shift. This is truly an event for everyone.

On October 15, our church and school campus will be reserved especially for this event. Therefore all sports, church, and school activities will be cancelled so that everyone will have the opportunity to come and take part in the first of what will become an annual event at our parish.

Sign up to volunteer to work a shift by clicking the “Sign-Up!” button above. You can also support the event through financial assistance. It costs $1.50 to produce each bag of food, which makes six nutritious meals. Any and all donations, of any size, are welcome before the event, as well as the day of.

Feed My Flock is an initiative brought to us by the St. Louis Parish Outreach Ministry. And all hours will go toward our parish goal of each person giving, annually, 24 hours of service to the Lord.
